Charmaine started her ballet journey at the age of 4. Under the tutelage of the Founding Director, Ms Jennie Ng and Principal, Ms Erica ng, she has completed her RAD Advanced 2 Examinations.
Through Le Grand’s various performances, Charmaine was exposed to performing on stage from a young age. This drove her passion for dance and encouraged her to venture into contemporary dance as a way to expand her dance vocabulary. She was the Dance Captain in her University’s contemporary dance group where she participated in various performances, as well as choreographed the pieces “Ambivalence” and "节哀顺变". She has also choreographed a dance film titled “Blessings” and "You, Again" for the Lion City Dance Film Festival, which was selected as one of the 10 official selections by the judges.
With a strong foundation in ballet, contemporary, she shares her passion for dance in every class she teaches. Her choreography has been showcased at renowned competitions such as the International Ballet Grand Prix, Masterpiece in Ballet Competition, Get The Beat, and the Singapore Challenge Cup—where her students have proudly achieved Gold and Silver awards.
Charmaine’s passion for dance has inspired her to pursue dance teaching with Le Grand where she started her dance journey as she believes in providing a nurturing and safe environment for dancers.
