CHANG HSIAO-MIN

Flamenco Teacher

Hailing from Taiwan, Hsiao-Min is a much sought after choreographer and dance artiste. Her versatile and creative work has showcased in national events including the Singapore Youth Festival, National Day Parades, Chingay Parades, as well as the 2010 Youth Olympics, hosted by Singapore. She has also participated in private events in the capacity of choreographer or trainer, including 6 October October 2011 Bellydance Extraordinaire Extravaganza.

Professionally trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Chinese Dance, Dance Education, Choreography and Performing at the National Taiwan University of Arts since 2002, she has expanded her dance repertoire to include Flamenco and Bellydance, studying with eminent teachers in both disciplines, including: Angel Gomez, Antonio Vargas, Clara Ramona, Jose Galvan and Rose Borromeo for Flamenco, and Mahmoud Reda, Yousry Sharif, Raqia Hassan, Dr. Mo Geddawi & Magdi El Leissy for Bellydance, all of whom have unanimously complimented her ability to execute Middle Eastern Dances with flair, authenticity and aestheticism.

In 2004, she performed in Cairo, Egypt at the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival, (one of the world’s largest & most famous Bellydance Festivals). She was also invited to be the special guest performer at the 2007 Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival Ciosing Gala.

In 2012, all 3 contestants who consulted her on their items for the Asia Global Bellydance competition were placed: Singapore Solo - Champion; Singapore Group - 1st and 2nd; Asia Group - 1st and 3rd.

Following her participation in the 2014 World Bellydance Festival, Hsiao Min has been invited to perform in the Bellydance China 2014 Festival.

Hsiao Min has been invited to the 2016 Raks By The SEA, and the 2016 World Bellydance Festival, as guest performer as well as instructor.  

Hsiao Min also teaches Zambra Mora, also known as Gypsy Flamenco, a Flamenco style that is infused with Bellydance. In addition to being a company performer with Flamenco Sin Fronteras, Hsiao-Min is also an associate choreographer for PA Talents.
